Jay Amberg

Jay Amberg was born in Chicago, Illinois. He received a B.A. from Georgetown University and a Ph.D. from Northwestern University. He has published more than eighty magazine articles and eight books, including THE CREATIVE WRITING HANDBOOK, THE STUDY SKILLS HANDBOOK, and SCHOOL SMARTS (all Goodyear Pub Co.), as well as the novels DEEP GOLD (Warner Books) and BLACKBIRD SINGING (Forge Books). His last novel, DOUBLOON (Forge Books), an underwater action thriller, was published in January 2003.

Jay has edited and self-published a poetry anthology, FIFTY-TWO POEMS FOR MEN. His new novel A TERRIBLE, SWIFT SWORD—an apocalyptic thriller set in Las Vegas—is also currently available.

He lives in Evanston, Illinois with his wife and daughters.
