Harold Farber, M.D.

Dr. Harold Farber is pediatric pulmonologist (children’s lung disease specialist) and a nationally known asthma specialist.  After serving for over 10 years as a pediatric pulmonologist for Kaiser Permanente in Vallejo, CA he had the honor of accepting of a position as Associate Professor at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas.  He has served as a consultant to community asthma coalitions, the American Lung Association of California, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and PARENTS Magazine.  His research focuses on improving asthma care quality and the effect of tobacco smoke on children with asthma.  Dr. Farber is the recipient of the the CHEST Foundation Governors Community Service Award (2003) and the Morris F Collen Research Award (2007).  He is the author (with Michael Boyette) of CONTROL YOUR CHILD’S ASTHMA: A BREAKTHROUGH PROGRAM FOR THE TREATMENT AND MANAGEMENT OF CHILDHOOD ASTHMA (Henry Holt, 2001).  Dr. Farber is passionate about empowering children and their parents to have the knowledge and skills to be in control of their asthma.
