Kim Headlee

In the past three decades Kim Headlee has worked as a computer site manager, programmer, software engineer, technical writer, trainer, testing and quality assurance specialist, and database administrator, mostly on Department of Defense contracts.  En route to her B.S. degree in Defense Systems Management, awarded in 1989 by Colorado Technical University of Colorado Springs, CO, Kim also studied Computer Science at the State University of New York (Utica) and the University of Washington, and spent two years at the US Air Force Academy as a cadet in the second class to admit women.  She is currently president of her own computer consulting company.  She has also been an editor and free-lance writer.  Her professional writing affiliations include the National Writers Association, the Authors Guild, and the Romance Writers of America and two of its local chapters, the Washington Romance Writers and Celtic Hearts Romance Writers.

Despite her extensive technical background—or perhaps because of it—Kim has never lost her desire to write fiction.  She has yoked that desire with her lifelong literary interest in the Arthurian Legends, and ancient and medieval history and warfare, to produce her first full length novel, DAWNFLIGHT: THE LEGEND OF GUINEVERE, which has garnered awards, award nominations, and critical acclaim.  Rights to its sequel, MORNING'S JOURNEY, are currently available. Kim is working on new novels set in the world she created for DAWNFLIGHT and also on another novel, PROPHECY.
