Terry Lee Rioux

After earning a baccalaureate degree in Anthropology from SUNY Plattsburgh, Terry Lee Rioux joined the United States Coast Guard and served four years as a search and rescue crewman. Later she earned a Master of Arts degree in history at Lamar University.

Terry’s professional focus has been the preservation and interpretation of individual life stories in the 19th and 20th centuries. Her thesis was presented to the public as GEORGE WASHINGTON CARROLL (Eakin Press, 2001). Terry is the author of FROM SAWDUST TO STARDUST: THE BIOGRAPHY OF DEFOREST KELLEY, STAR TREK'S DR. MCCOY (Pocket Books, 2005).

She is currently a history lecturer at Lamar University. After years in New Orleans, her life was changed by Hurricane Katrina. Now, she has decided to do what she loves most—history and horses—and of course that means Texas! She splits her time between the university and her Arabian friends while planning her next biography.
