William WarnockBill Warnock served four years with the United States Air Force and subsequently earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing from the Ohio State University. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) and member of the Project Management Institute. Bill has worked as a project manager and program manager in industries ranging from financial services to telecommunications. Warnock is also a Battle of the Bulge scholar and freelance writer who has authored feature articles for THE PLAIN DEALER (Cleveland, Ohio) and WWII HISTORY magazine. In 1990, Bill founded the MIA Project in affiliation with the 99th Infantry Division Association. The objective of this ongoing endeavor is to locate and recover the remains of U.S. servicemen missing on European battlefields. Bill serves as chief data analyst, genealogist, and archival researcher. To date, the remains of eight missing soldiers have been recovered and positively identified as a direct result of the MIA Project. Identification is pending on the remains of one other soldier. Bill and his colleagues serve on a voluntary basis without financial compensation. Their work is entirely self-funded. Bill's first book, THE DEAD OF WINTER, recounting this search effort, will be published by Chamberlain Bros. in 2005. |
