Greg WymerGreg Wymer is a 38-year-old husband and father living in Brookline, Massachusetts. A radio/television major at George Washington University, Greg wrote film reviews for his college newspaper, ran the student radio station, and competed on the MTV game show REMOTE CONTROL (he won).Upon graduating, Greg appeared on and won his second TV game show, the “here today, gone later today” PBS program THINK TWICE (he won again), and landed at WFNX radio in Boston as a marketing assistant and copywriter, where he and a co-worker were renowned for their ability to connect any actor to Kevin Bacon in three films or less. One of Greg’s favorite jobs at the station was creating trivia contests for the DJs to use as a way to award prizes to listeners. After winning an Achievement In Radio (AIR) Award for Best Station Event Promotion two years running, his creative skills and writing talents eventually landed Greg the job of morning show producer.Since 1997, Greg has performed with the cast of ImprovBoston, New England’s longest running and most highly acclaimed improvisational comedy troupe, at comedy festivals in Texas and New York and throughout New England. In the fall of 2001, Greg directed and performed in “Commedia dell High School,” an improv show mixing the styles of 16th century Italian commedia dell’arte with John Hughes-style 1980s teen films.With e-tractions, a provider of custom online entertainment, Greg’s work on the game “Whack-a-Flack” for a public relations agency was named Best Viral Marketing Campaign in 2001, beating such big names as Anheuser-Busch and Google. Now working at MIT, Greg continues to dispense movie and pop-culture lore to his friends and acquaintances.Proposals are available for Greg’s new project, CINEMA SAVANTS™, a collection of outrageously funny and difficult trivia questions regarding blockbusters, cult classics, and all our very favorite movies. |
