Kathleen Winters

A licensed pilot in airplanes and gliders and former flight instructor, Kathleen Winters’ publication credits include SOARING, WOMAN PILOT, and WOMEN IN AVIATION magazines, among others.

After earning a business degree and working corporate jobs, she embarked upon a writing career, wanting to meld her two loves: aviation and literature.

Her first book portrays Anne Morrow Lindbergh’s early years, an untold story of adventure and groundbreaking accomplishments in a brave, brief era of aviation.  Few people know she was a pilot and radio operator who crewed for her husband Charles Lindbergh. Drawing on the Lindberghs’ original flight logbooks and other new sources, Kathleen chronicles this exciting tale in her acclaimed book, ANNE MORROW LINDBERGH: FIRST LADY OF THE AIR, published by Palgrave Macmillan in November 2006. A paperback release is scheduled for May 2008.

She lives with her family on the bluffs of the Mississippi River in Minnesota.
