These thyngs I wryte that the Voyagure may not suffour the same Mysfortunes whych felle upon my Hede. The Year is 1895.

Armed with little more than warnings from the past and a cryptic journal of dreams, Jack Berkeley, heir to the noble house of Camberton, must learn the secret behind his father’s obsession--the secret of a shattered stone, whose fragments were discovered on opposite sides of the globe. The young lord's adventure begins on his twelfth birthday, when mysterious events in the Arabian Sea deprive him of both family and home.

Stranded in a London orphanage, he inherits the visions which drove his father to the ends of the earth--as fate brings together the companions who will share his perils in the days to come, and guides him to a place where beings from the darkest legends of man still walk the earth.

FAËRIE COUNTRY tells the story of Jack’s early days in the Country of the Faë, where
the fall of the King has plunged the realm into chaos and fear. The proud woodland races who give him shelter face imminent destruction by the diabolical gedakki. But following an encounter which nearly costs him his life, Jack comes to learn the first truth about the stone, and that the horrors he has witnessed are but the first faint stirrings of the war to come.
