THE TIME MACHINE
An Audio Dramatization of the H.G. Wells Classic

Alien Voices, Inc.
Simon & Schuster Audio
April 1997
Genre: Science Fiction
Format: Audio Drama

Based on H. G. Wells's science fiction classic, THE TIME MACHINE is the story of an English scientist in 1895, known only as "The Time Traveler", who entertains a friend at a dinner party with tales of how he has broken the "fourth dimension" to traverse into the future. He has invented a machine that enables him to travel through time; optimistic about encountering a highly advanced world, he leaps 802,000 years in the future. Instead, he is horrified to discover that the human race has split into two warring subspecies with nightmarish results.

Alien Voices' productions are an adventure in sound: classic works of science fiction and fantasy come to life in completely new, bold and wonderful audio dramatizations featuring virtuoso performances from the entire cast, riveting sound effects and original music.

"Nimoy and Lance obviously enjoy their collaboration in the series and the results are dynamic new interpretations of sci-fi classics."—AUDIOFILE

"...the drama's rich layers and fantastic flights of imagination will be a treat..."—PUBLISHERS WEEKLY

"...The opening scene shows right away the value of dramatization. It's an argumentative dinner party, with several characters speaking in unison, something you'd never get with single-voice recording..."—THE PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER

" ...well-done...quite faithful to Wells' book..."—HOUSTON CHRONICLE

"The production quality is excellent: crisp, clean and enhanced with symphonic accompaniment and extensive, appropriate sound effects. The actors' contributions are excellent as well. This audio is perfect for students.... If Nimoy's Alien Voices company continues to produce these abridgments of classics, libraries would be well advised to stock the entire series."—KLIATT (November 1997)

"Leonard Nimoy and John de Lancie sparkle in this superb recording that remains faithful to the original book."—DALLAS MORNING NEWS (June 29, 1997)
